Shirley Gilmore

Shirley was born and raised in Seaside, Oregon and graduated from Seaside High School in 1954. She enlisted in the US Air Force in June 1954, was trained as a Control Tower Operator, and was honorably discharged in 1957. She met her husband while serving at Elgin Air Force Base in Florida. They were married in 1957. They live in Newport, Oregon. Shirley is a retired Dispensing Optician. She enjoys quilting and doll making. She is a designer of patterns for quilts and dolls. She loves teaching quilt classes and doing demonstrations at the local quilt shop. Shirley and her husband have a daughter who lives in Ohio with her family, and a son who lives in Georgia with his family. They have one granddaughter, two grandsons, and two dogs, Darcy and Toby.
